metacrumb

Philipp Fuchs

Almost 40. Plenty done. Not tired yet.

Your browser does not show the crumb animation. All content is still here.

Developer, game designer, world builder, musician. Maybe just a dreamer.

I’m Philipp and I live in Berlin. I build game worlds that run in the browser with a double-click – no server, no downloads. Islands, cities, hospitals and whole ecosystems are generated the moment you start them.

I also build tools for non-profits that nobody else builds, and I make music as metacrumb.

metacrumb starts over.

The name comes from metaphysics: talk about the big things with your mouth full and you drop crumbs. That became the song “In Perspective of a Crumb” – and that became metacrumb.

It started with compositions in the spirit of Tchaikovsky, later a rapper from London and melodic voices joined in. Now everything begins again.

Fuchs im Haus (Intro). Composed, mixed and exported as video in Fuchs-Trecker, my music workstation in the browser.

Three worlds

Each one runs in the browser with a double-click, and each one is generated when it starts.

Survival horror RPG

Strandgut 3D

A man with no memory, an island with no way out – and all of human history as the only way forward.

Phil wakes up on a strange beach. The island wraps around a dark mountain like a ring, and beyond every pass a new age begins: stone, bronze, iron, steam, electricity. I wrote the soundtrack as metacrumb in Fuchs-Trecker.

Turn-based empire builder

Ivi, emi, factus sum

From antiquity to today – on a map that is generated anew every time.

Civilizations, leaders, world wonders and natural wonders on a low-poly 3D tile map. Every civilization has its own music, and every building is a blueprint generated in code.

Retro top-down action

Sinner City

An alien. A skater. Broke. And the mayor wants to tear down his halfpipe.

A dark top-down adventure in the spirit of the late nineties. Street grid, districts, interiors, missions and music are generated from a random seed for every new city – no night is like the last.
